Being held since 2007, Balaton Sound was co-created by the organizers of Sziget Festival. Located on the southern bank of Balaton Lake in Zamárdi, Hungary, Balaton Sound is considered to be one of Europe's largest open-air electronic music festivals.
This unforgettable event features DJ's and live acts from all around the world, from new artists to established ones. It sets new attendance records each year, and the tickets are usually sold out at the speed of light. The Main Stage area has a capacity of about 50,000, and the number of festival visitors reached 94,000 in 2009.
There are different lounges, stages, and tents inside the festival area, as well as luxurious chill-out items with comfortable chairs, bean bags, and hammocks. In 2013 Balaton Sound festival won the European Festivals Award in the category Best Medium-Sized European Festival.
