Chinese New Year in Charlotte is a great occasion to visit local Asian restaurants for entertainment and food specials. Another annual event is the Chinese New Year Festival at the Peaceful Dragon martial arts school located at Steele Creek Road.

For over 20 years, the school has been hosting a celebration from 11 am to 2 pm. The main highlight, of course, is the demonstration of Chinese martial arts. There are also Tai Chi demos, traditional Chinese dances, music, and cultural performances. Visitors can learn more about feng shui, traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy, and acupuncture. Kids can enjoy a bounce house, face painting, arts & crafts, and various games as well.

Another destination worth visiting during Chinese New Year in Charlotte is the New Asia Market at Potters Road in Stallings. It hosts a traditional dragon dance, various performances, and of course, there will be plenty of holiday food to try.
