WinterFest at Carowinds is an annual celebration that brings people together for seasonal fun at the amusement park straddling the North CarolinaSouth Carolina border. Running on select nights from late November through New Year's week, this event is renowned as the most immersive Christmas celebration in the state. This event is also renowned as a great place to spend New Year's Eve in Charlotte.

Events at the Fest

Visiting Carowinds WinterFest means millions of shimmering festive lights, one of the area's largest Christmas trees, ice skating on Snow Flake Lake, holiday shopping, seasonal treats, themed games, merry music by crooning carolers, concerts, and kids-friendly activities parkwide. One of the main highlights of the program must be a nightly WinterFest Wonderland Parade, which starts at 9 pm and features brightly festooned floats, Santa Claus, Christmas music, and other performers. If you happen to be at Carowinds on New Year's Eve, you'll also catch a spectacular midnight fireworks display.

Guests can also partake in Christmas-themed games, search for the perfect gift in local holiday shops, and experience fantastic live entertainment. With numerous activities designed for all ages, Carowinds is a family-friendly destination that promises fun for everyone. From the exhilarating Fury 325 to the charming Grand Carousel, there's something for every thrill-seeker and family member alike.

Hours & Tickets

Carowinds Winterfest takes place from 5 to 10 pm every Friday through Sunday, as well as on select extra days throughout the season and during the entire week of New Year's. Daily tickets are available for $49.99. The online price is $39.99
