Cooperstown, located in central New York, between Syracuse and Albany, is known for its snowy winters. Every February, the picturesque village, at the southern tip of Otsego Lake, holds The Cooperstown Winter Carnival to bring joy and some fun into dark winter days.
The festival program includes a snowman contest, cross-country jingle ski trail, a bowling tournament, guided snowshoeing, a talent show as well as other indoor and outdoor activities. The Cooperstown Winter Carnival has become a traditional winter festival since 1967, bringing together locals and visitors. Each year, exciting new events are added to the program.
The town is also known for its Farmers’ Museum, which is dedicated to 19th-century life. There is a hand-carved carousel, folk art, and lots of beautiful lake views.
