The annual family event in with ice carving demonstrations and competitions
Dates: January 22-26, 2025
Stowe Winter Carnival is held every year in late January to celebrate the winter wonderland and all winter sports of Stowe. The festival features over 20 major activities for people of all ages. The main highlights are the Ice Carving Competition, sports events, ski movies, and Kids Carnival Chaos. Don't forget about such fun activities as snow golf and snow volleyball tournaments!
During the festival, professional ice carvers create their elegant masterpieces across the village. The sculptures are made in front of the public and displayed on Demonstration Day of the Annual NICA sanctioned Ice Carving Competition. Ice figures are usually exhibited on Main Street, Mountain Road, and all around Stowe. There is also a public amateur ice class and competition with tools and instructions included.
Stowe Winter Carnival Opening and Closing festivities feature live music and various entertainment at Rusty Nail Stage. Dress warmly for the weather, and get ready to have a lot of fun. Stowe Winter Carnival is ranked no. 2 by Country Living in “15 Best Winter Festivals All Across the US.”
