El Paso Winterfest 2024-2025
Enjoy the holiday cheer with one of the "coolest" festivals in Texas
Dates: November 23, 2024–January 5, 2025
WinterFest is one of the best family-friendly events of the El Paso winter that starts after Thanksgiving and lasts through early January. WinterFest has become a beloved community tradition, aiming to make the celebration bigger and better for El Pasoans and visitors to enjoy.
During the Festival, San Jacinto Plaza and the surrounding downtown area are illuminated with over 1 million lights, decorations, and a 55-foot (16.8 m) Christmas tree. The festivities also feature an outdoor ice-skating rink and winter-themed attractions.
El Paso Winterfest Events and Activities
The festival kicks off with the Celebration of Lights Parade in Downtown El Paso. The parade's route circles the city center, starting at about 5:30 pm at Texas Ave & Campbell St. Dozens of colorful floats and illuminations bring the true holiday spirit to El Paso.
Live performances on the Main Stage follow the celebration of Lights Parade. Past performers included Elia Esparza and the El Paso Youth Symphony Orchestra. Photo ops with Santa and art installations downtown, created by local artists, will make beautiful holiday season memories for the whole family. Be sure to find a time for free holiday movies throughout the WinterFest season.
Kids can enjoy Christmas Express rides as well as ice skating at the Hospitals of Providence Ice Rink. The rink operates seven days a week and on holidays, too. The Holiday Market is another great opportunity to look for Christmas presents among a variety of talented local artisan vendors and try some tasty treats. The Christmas market operates from 2 to 11 pm.
