The city of Lowell in Middlesex County holds its annual Winterfest every February, featuring a weekend full of winter fun in the historical downtown. Kids will love a traditional carousel and ice-skating, not to mention all-you-can-eat chocolate festival. Adults can enjoy a Craft Beer Showcase and a diverse lineup of live music acts by local performers.
Delicious foods include warm and cold snacks, ranging from sweet to savory. Also, don't forget the North Bowl Soup Competition, one of the highlights of the festival, where visitors can sample a large variety of soups from local restaurants and select their favorite.
Other attractions of the festival include the National Human Dogsled Championship and the Family Fun Zone as well as outdoor games and amusements. Winter Market showcases arts and crafts, specialty foods, and apparel created and sold by locals artists and craftsmen. The day ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
