The Guardians of Freedom Air Show in Lincoln is the largest and most popular aviation event in Nebraska. The air show, organized by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, features an impressive lineup of nationally-recognized performers. The show has attracted as many as 300,000 people in two days.
Past performers of the show included the USAF Parachute Team/Wings of Blue, F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, and SHOCKWAVE & Flash Fire Jet Trucks. The main highlight of Lincoln Air Show is the Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron of the United States Navy. The team performed in Lincoln in 2006, 2011, and 2016.
The Guardians of Freedom Air Show takes place at Lincoln Municipal Airport. In addition to military and civilian aerobatic acts, the public can enjoy military and vintage ground displays as well as various entertainment. The airfield gates open at 9:30 am and close at 5 pm. Admission and parking are free to the public. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, and blankets to watch the show.
