Tijuca is the largest urban rainforest on the planet. This natural beauty is the home to lots of mammals, reptiles, birds, and amphibians that are accustomed to humans and make for some great animal-watching.
Aside from all that Tijuca has a lot more to offer. There are several hiking paths and places for picnics, refreshing waterfalls, and hills with astonishing views and activities like hang gliding or rock climbing.
Of course, there's also the Christ the Redeemer statue, an iconic symbol of Rio on Corcovado mountain. So take some comfortable shoes, a bottle of water and some snacks, and discover the lush green jungle right next to the concrete jungle of Rio.
