Planet Comicon Kansas City is a premier event in the Midwest. Every spring, it draws over 60,000 fans to celebrate comics, fantasy, anime, video games, and pop culture. Held at the Kansas City Convention Center, the convention features celebrity panels, autograph sessions, and photo opportunities with stars from various franchises.
Events & Highlights
At Planet Comicon Kansas City, you can experience a vibrant exhibition hall featuring over 650 vendors with an array of collectibles, crafts, and merchandise. The Artists Alley offers the chance to meet comic book designers and authors, purchase original art, and get your favorite books signed. The convention is family-friendly, with the Planet Entertainment Zone providing fun interactive activities, including the Pez Cosplay Maker Space, which focuses on cosplay creation. Additionally, Planet After Dark features parties and events across the city during the weekend.
Cosplay Contest (March 22, 2025)
A major highlight is the Cosplay Contest, which takes place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. This judged competition draws thousands of fans in costumes. It features dedicated cosplay zones, costume contests for all ages, and opportunities to meet renowned cosplayers. The Cosplay Showcase allows attendees to interact with talented cosplay crafters and participate in group photo events.
2025 Convention Guests
Planet Comicon Kansas City 2025 will feature a diverse lineup of talented guests, including actors, artists, and creators from various fandoms. Notable attendees include Chris M. Arnone, Jim Beaver, Elizabeth Berkley, Don Bluth, Mike Colter, Amanda Conner, and Tim Daly. Also joining the event are comic book legends like Cullen Bunn, Jim Mahfood, Don Rosa, and Skottie Young. Fans will also have the chance to meet TV stars such as Katee Sackhoff, Matthew Lillard, and Tori Spelling, as well as voice actors from Rick and Morty and Supernatural.
Ticket Prices & Hours
Planet Comicon Kansas City operates with the following hours: Friday from 1 pm to 8 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Ticket prices vary, with single-day adult tickets ranging from $41.99 to $58.99 and youth tickets (ages 8-12) priced between $13.99 and $21.99. Children under seven can attend for free on all days, and Sunday tickets are free for everyone. A three-day pass costs $97.99, while a Fast Pass for all three days is available for $358.99.
