New Year's Eve in Kansas City 2024-2025

Kansas City doesn't have a massive street celebration and fireworks on New Year's Eve. However, there are still numerous ways to ring in the New Year in style. From a child-friendly celebration in the Science city to the massive party, where attendees dance the night away to DJ music, there's still plenty of options to choose from and make the most of your night.

Noon Year's Eve Countdown at Science City, Union Station

Massive educational institution, situated in the city's historic Union Stations, welcomes all families to ring in the New Year with an early celebration of New Year and a variety of interactive exhibits. After exploring the spacious grounds, filled to the brim with hands-on displays, and having fun at an annual slumber party, enjoy an early countdown and a ball drop just for children. The museum is open from 12 pm until 6:30 pm on December 31st. General admission tickets cost $16.50, but children under 12 months can enter for free.

NYE Live! in Power & Light District

Power and Lights District is another epicenter of New Year's fun. The area's NYE Live! countdown bash is spread over 11 bars and nightclubs and includes all-inclusive packages, entertainment, party favors, and confetti cannons. Enjoy a champagne toast during the countdown to midnight and the “Times Square” ball drop in the heart of Kansas City!

As one of the biggest New Year's Eve parties in the area, NYE Live! features an impressive headliner, DJ James Kennedy, a Vanderpump Rules star, who's ready to entertain the crowds with a mix of the best hits of the last decade and beyond. You can enter the party from Grand Boulevard between 13th and 14th Street.

Hours & Tickets

All venues are open from 7 pm and until after midnight. There are several ticket packages: Silver Package, Gold Package, and Platinum Package. The silver package gives you access to 10 venues from 7 pm until 12 am and costs $80. The golden ticket also grants you entry to ten parties, coupled with an all-inclusive drink package.

Platinum ticket comes with VIP privileges, including eleven parties, gourmet food, a red carpet walk, and a VIP lounge, where you can witness the ball drop. The golden package costs $120, while a platinum ticket can be purchased for $199. Entry is strictly 21 years old and over.

New Year's Eve Party at the Temple XV

Scottish Rite Temple, located in the Hyde Park district of the city, hosts one of the most popular year-end celebrations. With huge open bar options, a diverse drink selection, and an exciting lineup of DJs playing everything from chart-topping hits to EDM and hip-hop tracks, the party is a hit for those wanting to send off 2024 with a bang. This year, SkyMikez and DJ Rise are overtaking the DJ console for this grandiose party. Tickets start at $44.

Other NYE Events & Parties

Country Club Plaza is packed with restaurants and bars, many of which have New Year's Eve specials and menus. There is also the annual New Year's Eve Party at The View at Briarcliff. It features a countdown, gourmet food, live music, and dancing. Kansas City-based band The Stolen Winnebagos set the stage on fire with a blend of classic rock, pop, and hip hop, with the set list ranging from recent hits to the iconic songs of the 1960s.

The spacious ballroom welcomes everyone for a night of dancing, drinks, gourmet food, and scrumptious pizza. The party runs from 6:30 pm until 1 am. Tickets start at $200 per person.
