Wellington

The capital of New Zealand has a lot to offer visitors on New Year's Eve. Wellington NYE Celebrations in Frank Kitts Park include live music on a beautiful stage by Whairepo Lagoon, movies, and spectacular fireworks. The festivities start 8 pm with a concert, while the two fireworks displays take place at 9:45 pm and at midnight. After the concert, revelers continue celebrating at clubs on Courtenay Place and Cuba Street.

Christchurch

The third-largest city in New Zealand hosts a free New Year’s festival in North Hagley Park every December. This family-friendly event features live music, food stalls, and a variety of activities. The concerts' headliners include iconic kiwi bands as well as some aspiring home-grown talents and DJs. The culmination of the holiday is the countdown to midnight, ending with the amazing fireworks display.
