One of the best fall events in the larger Kansas City area

Weston Applefest is an annual harvest festival held on the first full weekend of October in the town of Weston in Platte County. Weston's historic downtown district, which dates back to 1837, is a perfect backdrop for the festivities. In addition to dozens of vendors, the area boasts many shops, restaurants, a brewery, and bars. The celebration, with over 30 years of history, features a parade, arts and crafts, kids' games, and plenty of food and various entertainment.

The Weston area has a long history of apple growing. Applefest is a great occasion to celebrate the delicious fall crop, indulging in apple pies, dumplings, fritters, and other delicious treats. The festival also includes exciting demonstrations. Attendees can learn how apple butter and apple cider are made. Other highlights of the festival include the Applefest parade, which goes down Main St, at 10 am on Saturday. The parade features marching bands, antique tractors, classic cars, and fire trucks.

Main Street is lined with over 60 art and craft booths offering fall decor, jewelry, apparel, and various unique items. In addition, visitors can browse local shops for some interesting finds.
