Fan Expo Chicago is a popular convention dedicated to comics, anime, fantasy, video games, Sci-Fi, and TV programming. Held at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, it attracts tens of thousands of fans. Fan Expo Chicago hsa been known as Chicago Comic Con since 1972. In 1998, it was renamed to "Wizard World Chicago". Over the years, the convention was visited by such celebrities as Michael J. Fox, John Travolta, Carrie Fisher, Stan Lee, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and John Cena. Fantasy fans have a chance to meet Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Sean Astin, and Billy Boyd.
In addition to various family-friendly attractions, the convention features autograph signings, photo ops, panels discussions, workshops, and unique events, like Sketch Duels, the competition for professional comic artists.
Artist Alley is a special area packed with authors, graphic designers, and other creators. Meet the rising stars of the comics industry and get a chance to shop for limited edition prints and, first of all, original art and sketches. In addition, there is the giant Show Floor with dozens of exhibitors offering toys, clothes, and various merchandise.
The four-day Fan Expo Chicago runs from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, 10 am to 7 pm on Friday, 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
