The Governors Ball Music Festival is a multi-day music event that exemplifies the eclectic spirit of New York City. It takes place annually on Randall's Island and features music from various genres and styles like rock, hip-hop, indie, pop, folk, and electronic music. Aside from the music, the festival offers dozens of snack shacks as well as lawn games, ping pong, photo booths, and a silent disco. The Governors Ball is a rain or shine event. The organizers advise in a case of rain to bring ponchos and umbrellas and in a case of shine—glasses and sunscreen.
