Quebec City Summer Festival or Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) is an annual music festival featuring pop, folk, rock, electronic dance music, and hip hop. Starting on the first Thursday of July, the 11-day event attracts over 325,000 festival-goers every year.
The festival takes over multiple venues around the city, so that everyone can enjoy favourite music and activities. The main stage is one of the largest in North America set on the historic Plains of Abraham. The other two major outdoor venues are the Parc de la Francophonie and the Place d'Youville. Indoor venues include l’Impérial Bell, District Saint-Joseph and l’Anti-Bar & Spectacles. The main one is the Impérial Bell. Besides that, many city clubs host special events dedicated to jazz and electronic music. "Place de la Famille" is a festival venue that specializes in family activities.
The first edition of FEQ was organized in 1968 by a group of local businessmen and artists, specialising in Francophonie and world music.
