Quebec City Summer Festival, or Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ), is an annual music festival featuring pop, folk, rock, electronic dance music, and hip hop. Starting on the first Thursday of July, the 11-day event attracts over 325,000 festival-goers every year.
Festival's Lineup
The Quebec City Summer Festival boasts an impressive lineup of performers this year. Headliners include Nickelback, 50 Cent, Jonas Brothers, The Offspring, Alexandra Stréliski, Karkwa, Alan Walker, Zac Brown Band, Post Malone, J Balvin, and Mötley Crüe, Bombino, Carly Rae Jepsen, Fleet Foxes, Future Islands, J Balvin, Killswitch Engage, Nas, Rise Against, Seether, The Dead South, The Offspring, Yellow Days. This diverse range of artists promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees, showcasing everything from rock and hip-hop to pop and electronic music.
Venues
The festival takes over multiple venues around the city, so that everyone can enjoy favourite music and activities. The main stage is one of the largest in North America set on the historic Plains of Abraham. The other two major outdoor venues are the Parc de la Francophonie and the Place d'Youville. Indoor venues include l’Impérial Bell, District Saint-Joseph and l’Anti-Bar & Spectacles. The main one is the Impérial Bell. Besides that, many city clubs host special events dedicated to jazz and electronic music. "Place de la Famille" is a festival venue that specializes in family activities.
Tickets
Festival-goers can enjoy a wide range of performances with a General Admission pass priced at $150. For an elevated experience, the Bell Signature Zone offers premium access at $640, while the Silver Front Stage Zone is available for $560. The ultimate experience can be found in the Gold Front Stage Zone, priced at $970. Additionally, tickets for performances at the Grand Théâtre de Québec start at $42 per day, providing access to even more exceptional shows.
History of the Festival
The first edition of FEQ was organized in 1968 by a group of local businessmen and artists specializing in Francophonie and world music. Past headliners of the festival include Iron Maiden, Rammstein, The Black Eyed Peas, Elton John, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Lionel Richie, Guns N' Roses, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, Tiësto, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, Journey, Bryan Adams, The Killers, Snoop Dogg, The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Keith Urban, Deep Purple, Iggy Azalea, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duran Duran, Selena Gomez, The Cult, Ice Cube, Brad Paisley, Muse, P!nk, Gorillaz, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Beck, Lorde, Future, and The Chainsmokers.
