Boston Calling is a three-day festival featuring music, comedy, and visual arts. Every Memorial Day weekend in May, it is held at Harvard’s Athletic Complex in Allston near Boston. The festival has featured Eminem and Sia as well as other big names in music such as The National, Beck, My Morning Jacket, Of Monsters and Men, Fun., Kendrick Lamar, Passion Pit, Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, Airborne Toxic Event, and Disclosure. It attracts around 40,000 people annually.
Founded in 2013, Boston Calling initially took place twice a year, in May and September, however, in 2017 just one edition remained annually. The event grew into a festival with multiple stages and an abundance of performances. The lineup also turned out to be more impressive. The festival got nominated into the Top 10 Festivals in the U.S. according to Consequence of Sound. It is produced by Crash Line Productions, a Boston-based company which also organizes Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
