The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (SNWMF for short) is an annual celebration of peace, love, and good music held annually on the weekend closest to summer solstice. This is always a lovely weekend filled with some of the best roots reggae and world music. The tradition started back in 1994 and has been promoting the so-called “conscious” music which transmits a message of unity and brotherhood, regardless of race or culture. Everyone may join the party at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Bonneville, which is about a two-hour drive from San Francisco.
Along with two stages, SNWMF features a late night Jamaican style dance hall. Since it's a family-friendly event, it offers plenty of fun activities to keep your kids engaged and interested. Stalls selling arts, crafts and international goodies are also abundant. Music and dance workshops are also in the programme. Besides, you can make use of limited on-site camping.
