Dates: May 17-19, 2024
Every spring by the end of May, the Gulf coast swells up with tens of thousands who come for unique music experience at the seaside. It began back in 2010 when a crowd gathered in Gulf Shores, Alabama to enjoy the best of national music, Grammy award-winning artists, and simply to hang out. A relatively small gathering was destined to grow into a bigger one, and so it became known as "The Hangout Music Festival". Today, it's renowned as one of the most famous iconic festivals in the United States.
Every succeeding year, the festival has been extending, and today it gathers some 40,000 attendees each day of the festival. Just to compare, the inaugural event's attendance was up to 15,000 visitors per day. The numbers tripled the following year. The festival officially lasts for three days: Friday to Sunday, yet in fact, the party begins on Thursday with the Kick-Off Party that kicks off at 6 pm and requires a separate ticket.
Over the years the Hangout's stage has seen lots of world-known stars including The Killers, Mumford & Sons, Twenty One Pilots, The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, The Flaming Lips, Matt & Kim, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Franti, The Weeknd, Grace Potter, The Zac Brown Band, Foo Fighters, Phil Collins, Outkast, and many other big names.
One of the advantages of the Hangout Music Festival is its location at the famous seaside resort, which is a great plus for those who have already had a painful experience with bathrooms.
