This year's Christmas on the Coosa embraces the classic holiday spirit with the theme "Jingle Bells & Gingerbread." This enchanting theme sets the stage for whimsical floats and joyful activities, creating a warm and magical atmosphere for visitors of all ages. The festivities kick off with a Character Breakfast at 8:30 am, where families can enjoy a festive meal while meeting beloved holiday characters. Afterward, visitors can head to Gold Star Park for live entertainment that fills the air with music and performances. The event also features a variety of arts and crafts and food vendors offering handmade treasures and seasonal treats, available from noon to 7:30 pm. Families can enjoy the Car Show and participate in numerous children's activities designed to keep everyone entertained.
Wetumpka Christmas Parade
The holiday vibe is transmitted via the colorful Wetumpka Christmas parade, which starts at 6 pm. The fun continues with a lively parade of floats, marching bands, and performers. Then, don’t miss Santa’s iconic arrival as he waterskis across the Coosa River! End the day with spectacular fireworks at a 7:30 pm show that will light up the sky and bring holiday magic to all.
Pageant
The Miss Christmas on the Coosa Pageant is a beloved tradition, celebrating both beauty and charm while offering participants the chance to serve as ambassadors for the City of Wetumpka and its festive Christmas on the Coosa events. This pageant is more than just a competition—it helps young girls develop leadership skills, build character, and gain experiences that will benefit them throughout their lives. Open to girls who live or attend school in Elmore County, the program provides a unique opportunity to engage with the community and represent the holiday spirit of Wetumpka.
