The Annual Vinton Christmas Parade is a wonderful opportunity to welcome winter with a blast. It starts with lighting the Town’s Christmas tree at the Municipal Building on Pollard St. at 6 pm. Many people gather to see how a simple tree turns into a colorful extravaganza within a second.
The parade starts on Gus Nicks Blvd. at 7 pm, winds through town, and finishes on Washington Ave at the Vinton War Memorial. Usually, there are up to eight marching bands and 70-80 entries of civic groups, churches, and businesses. After the parade, you can rejoice in a Holiday Open House at the Vinton War Memorial with plenty of entertainment and family-friendly activities for you and your kids.
