For over 30 years, the annual Winter Festival has been the premier holiday event in Tallahassee. The Celebration of Lights, Music, and the Arts is held in downtown Tallahassee on a Saturday in early December. Winter Festival features an arts and crafts fair, food vendors, and spectacular holiday displays, such as Candy Cane Lane in McCarty Park.
The youngest visitors can enjoy kids' crafts, activities, and family-friendly holiday movies in Kleman Plaza. The downtown area also hosts four stages of live entertainment with performances from local bands, actors, and dancers. The stage in Cascades Park features the annual Holiday Stroll with holiday tunes and a dozen different acts by local artists from 6 to 8 pm. Additionally, there's free cocoa and a musical show at Imagination Fountain.
The highlight of the celebration is the annual Lighting Ceremony, which usually takes place at 6:00 pm. It is followed by the Nighttime Holiday Parade, which begins at 7:15 pm on Monroe Street in Bloxam Park. Other events also include the 1.53-mile Jingle Bell Run on South Monroe and Park Avenue.
