The Holiday Boat Parade is one of the main highlights of the Christmas season in San Pedro, attracting thousands of locals and visitors. Held on a Sunday in early December, it's a magical holiday event for children and adults, which brings joy and Christmas spirit to Ambergris Caye.
This extravaganza of tropical Christmas lights is created by dozens of small and large lavishly decorated boats, passing along the shore with holiday lights and music. They feature animated Christmas scenes, carolers, and various holiday characters. The boat parade starts near Wayo's Beach Bar at 6 pm and ends at the Caribbean Villas. The best-decorated boat is chosen by the jury, and its owner is awarded a prize during the awards ceremony in Central Park. Further celebrations in the park, which features a large Christmas tree and a holiday market, include live music, a caroling competition, as well as food and drinks concessions.
