Ferrython 2025 in Sydney

You can't fully feel the spirit of Australia Day celebrations without the traditional Ferrython

Dates: January 26

Ferry competitions are iconic during the official Australia Day. On February 26th, participants line up for the race and head from Circular Quay to Shark Island and back with a miraculous finish at the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Ferrython can be observed for free from any location around the Harbour. However, if you'd like to see the event from prime seats, Sydney Festival sells spots on the Red and Blue ferries for $220, with morning tea, lunch and a booze package included.

Pack a picnic and get a good viewing spot to cheer on your favourite ferry. The Sydney Opera House, Hickson Road Reserve, Blues Point or Overseas Passenger Terminal are also perfect for observation!
