Christmas Parade is the beloved annual tradition of San Pedro. The colorful procession attracts about 10,000 spectators lining the streets to get into the holiday spirit, see the elaborately decorated floats, and share some candy. The parade occurs on a Sunday in early December and runs from 1 to 3 p.m., starting at 13th Street & Pacific Avenue and ending at 6th Street & Palos Verdes Street in downtown San Pedro.
Local dance and music bands, little leagues, scouts, students, school marching bands, the San Pedro Town Council, and equestrian groups participate in the event. Costumed characters include Mickey Mouse and his friends, Santa Claus, and the Grinch.
To further enjoy Christmas in this tropical paradise, head to Central Park in downtown San Pedro to see the tall Christmas tree and visit a holiday market offering various Christmas treats, decorations, and crafts. Don't forget to try delicious tamales and Rumpopo, the Belizean equivalent of eggnog!
