The Lancaster Holiday Festival Parade is one of the main annual events in Lancaster, Ohio. The parade, which always takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, begins and ends at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. This magnificent event gathers hundreds of spectators who want to take in the Christmas atmosphere and welcome the start of the holiday season. Vibrant floats, decorated carriages, and marching bands performing festive tunes are just some of the attractions you can witness at this parade.
Parade Route & Program
Each year, the festival theme changes, with this year's theme being "The Spirit of Christmas." Filled to the brim with participants in festive costumes, carrying candy, and spreading festive cheer, the parade has the same start and finish line at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. From there, the procession continues towards Columbus Street and makes a left turn to Main Street, greeting the crowds. On Main Street, the participants turn onto Broad Street and return back to the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. Columbus Street, Main Street, and Broad Street are the best areas to see the parade, so consider arriving a bit earlier to reserve the spot.
Schedule & Hours
The Lancaster Christmas parade lasts from 10 am until noon. The parade participants start to gather at approximately 8:30-9 am, but the festivities begin promptly at 10 am.
