Lights, Camera, Christmas Decatur Christmas Parade 2024 in Alabama

The Decatur Christmas Parade, spreading joy and holiday cheer, takes place every winter in early December in Downtown Decatur. Previously by the Decatur Jaycees, this year's edition is presented by Young Professionals of Decatur. The parade celebrates the magic of Christmas, which is deeply cherished by the community. Local businesses and organizations decorate their floats with festive ribbons and sculptures, dressing up as Christmas characters. Spectators line up along the route, cheering the participants.

Parade Program

The Decatur Christmas Parade features dozens of festive floats, decorated vehicles, community groups, and much more. With this year's theme being "Lights, Camera, Christmas", the event intends to depict the beloved Christmas movies and Broadway plays through a festively decorated vehicles, attire, dances, and numerous special performances.

Route & Schedule

The parade usually begins at 6 pm and sets off from 2nd Avenue, continues down Grant Street, and keeps moving through downtown Decatur until it stops at Bank Street. The staging and line-up process takes place earlier than the actual parade.

Downtown Decatur is always festively decorated for the holidays. Local businesses participate in the annual Spectacle of Lights, decorating their windows and storefronts.
