Fox Lake Festival of Lights 2024 in Illinois

Fox Lake is renowned for its dazzling lights and holiday decorations. The holiday season in this picturesque village kicks off with the Fox Lake Festival of Lights. This highly anticipated community celebration includes a Christmas parade, tree lighting, and the Kris Kringle Winter Market at the Community Garden Green. Located in Lake County, just 57 miles north of Chicago, visiting Fox Lake offers a wonderful holiday experience!

Events & Activities

Before the parade and tree lighting, join the Kris Kringle Winter Market at Lakefront from 3 to 6 p.m. The festivities continue after the parade with the opening of the Santa Cottage and the Annual Tree Lighting at Millennium Park. Additionally, a Holiday House Decorating Contest will take place, with prizes awarded for Best Use of Lights, Best Theme, Most Extravagant, and Holiday Spirit. Be sure to register by December 13th, as winners will be announced on December 20. Many participants in the Holiday Decorating Contest create stunning displays using rope lights, icicle lights, and LED curtain lights.

Fox Lake Festival of Lights Parade

The Fox Lake Festival of Lights parade begins at 5 pm near Grant Community High School and proceeds to Millennium Park along Grand Avenue. Participants are encouraged to decorate and illuminate their floats and cars— the more lights, the better!
