Lake Jackson is known for its vibrant festivities kicking off the holiday season. Every year, in mid-November, Lake Jackson holds the Festival of Lights and the Annual Parade of Lights. The tradition, which has been going strong in Brazoria County for over 30 years, attracts many visitors to Lake Jackson.
Festival of Lights runs at Lake Jackson Civic Center Veteran's Memorial Plaza from 10 am to 8 pm. The day starts with children’s entertainment on the main stage and Santa’s Workshop. Festivities continue downtown from 6 pm to 8 pm, culminating with the Parade of Lights at 7 pm. The median of Circle Way is among the best spots to watch the Parade. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and refreshments. The parade is usually followed by Movie Night at the Civic Center.
In addition to the parade, the Christmas season celebration in Lake Jackson features the largest snowman bounce house in the world, Toboggan Tunnel, inflatables, carnival, Mayor's Christmas tree lighting, and Friday's Santa Pajama Jam dance party at the Civic Center. All activities are free for the public.
