An open-air music party is the best way to kick off the South African summer season

Rocking the Daisies Music and Lifestyle Festival is a booming open-air multi-genre music event. It gathers thousands of music lovers near a town with a nice name—Darling, Western Cape Province. It takes only an hour and a half drive to get there from the city of Cape Town. The four-day party traditionally takes place on the first weekend of October, marking the start of the summer season in South Africa.

Music Lineup

Performers include world-renowned talents, as well as the latest local celebrities. This year's lineup features Snoh Aalegra, Mick Jenkins, Ayra Starr, Smino, Maeta, and BLK ODYSSY, with more to come. In the past, Rocking the Daisies audience danced the night away to the tunes performed by Stormzy, Kehlani, Clean Bandit, The 1975, Mac Miller, Two Door Cinema Club, and many other artists.

Schedule

The festival takes place over four days and spans from noon until midnight on Thursday, from 8 am until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 am until 2 pm on Sunday. The information desk operates from noon until 10 pm on Thursday, from 10 am until 2 am on Friday, and from 8 am until 2 am on Saturday. On Sunday, the information desk is open from 8 am until 3 pm.

Tickets

Thursday to Sunday festival passes range from 1,820 South African Rand to 2,020 South African Rand. Friday to Sunday festival passes cost 1,620 South African Rand. To camp at the venue, you need a camping pass, the cost of which ranges from 499 South African Rand to 1,699 South African Rand. There is also an exclusive camping option at Daisyland, an exclusive camping site, which costs anywhere from 3,499 to 22,999 South African Rand.

Location

Rocking the Daisies unfolds in the town of Darling, at the Cloof Wine Estate, 41 miles (67 km) from Cape Town. Darling is known for its rich flora and fauna, boasting an impressive selection of flowering plants and migrating birds. It serves as the perfect backdrop for such an event.
