The Citadel Music Festival has been a cornerstone of Berlin's open-air season for over a decade. Beginning humbly in July 2005 with the inaugural concert by Blackmore's Night, it set the stage for what has become a beloved Berlin tradition. Unlike typical festivals, the Citadel Music Festival is not confined to a few days. Instead, it spans from May to September, offering a series of concerts that capture the essence of Berlin's vibrant music scene.

Program
Citadel Music Festival 2024 promises a diverse lineup of musical acts to suit all tastes. The first month of the festival has already seen performances from internationally acclaimed artists such as John Legend (13.06), James Arthur (02.06), and NOFX (8-9.06). Looking ahead, July and August will feature incredible performances from Jamie Cullum (20.07), AIR (21.07), KORN (01.08), Giant Rooks (29.08), and many more, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Schedule
Admission times for the concerts at Citadel Music Festival can vary depending on the event. Generally, doors open at 5 pm, with performances starting at 7 pm. The Citadel's regular opening hours are Friday to Wednesday from 10 am to 5 pm and Thursday from 1 pm to 8 pm.
Tickets
Citadel Music Festival tickets are available for purchase on a per-concert basis, with no full-season passes offered. You can obtain tickets online or at the box office unless a concert is sold out. Prices start at €52.20 plus a €1.50 system fee and may vary depending on the concert.
Parking
Parking near the Citadel is limited, so visitors are encouraged to use public transport whenever possible. The best way to reach the festival is by taking the U7 subway line to the Zitadelle stop.
Rules & Restrictions
For safety reasons, bags and rucksacks larger than A4 size (21 cm x 29.7 cm) are not permitted at the festival. Children under six years old are not allowed entry, even if accompanied by an adult. Children and young people under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Young people under 18 may attend public dance events unaccompanied until midnight with a photo ID. Only non-alcoholic drinks in TetraPak or plastic bottles up to 0.5 liters are allowed. Glass bottles, cans, and larger containers are not permitted.
