The Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival is an annual ballooning event that takes place at Coshocton County Fairgrounds over three days in early June. The event offers a fun-packed program of family-friendly activities, including midway rides, food and drink vendors, and balloon launches.
Festival's Schedule
The Coshocton Balloon Festival's daily program features kiddie rides, food vendors, entertainment, craft booths, children's activities, fireworks, night glow, and hot air balloon launches. On the opening day, the activities start at 4 pm and last until 10 pm. Friday and Saturday's working hours are 11 am-10 pm. Tethered balloon rides typically operate on a Thursday evening on a first-come, first-served basis and cost $20. The balloons hover 20-25 feet above the ground during these rides but do not launch or fly away.
Balloon Night Glow traditionally takes place on Friday evening at 9:15 pm. The balloons are inflated on the field and the burners are ignited, creating a stunning glow. However, the balloons do not ascend during this event due to safety concerns related to flying in the dark. The firework show is scheduled for Saturday at 10 pm. Other event specials include the Crowning of the Queen, Golf Ball Drop, and diverse live entertainment. All balloon-related activity depends on weather conditions.
Tickets & Parking
Admission and parking are free to all visitors. For parking, enter the fairgrounds through the Kenilworth and 7th Streets gates. Visitors can buy a special wristband for kiddie rides, which is available for $15.
