Twice a year, nearly 130 restaurants around San Francisco create special prix-fixe menus to share their great food with diners at a bargain price. Most of them don't usually offer such menus all the time. But during SF Restaurant Week, food spots present them thoughtfully. The idea can be used to highlight their famous dishes, to feature a new testing menu item, or even to introduce to the public a sample of the food they love to cook. Restaurant Week features two-course lunch and three-course dinner menus at different prices.
Before planning your trip to one of the local restaurants, feel free to preview prix-fixe menus and make reservations. But the most pleasant surprise is that if you eat at four or more participating restaurants during the Restaurant Week, you have a chance to be given dining gift certificates to some restaurants.
