Sherwood Forest Faire is an annual Renaissance festival held every spring in the picturesque Lost Pines section of Central Texas. The 25-acre Renaissance village in McDade features over 100 shops, pubs, merchant shops, wedding venues, a complete castle, and more.
Event Highlights
Attendees can immerse themselves in legendary times around 1189, with chivalrous knights, robbers, comedians, jugglers, musicians, peasants, and other characters. Everyone can meet Richard the Lionheart, Robin Hood, Lady Marian, Little John, and the Sheriff of Nottingham! Nestled in a lush wooded area, Sherwood Forest Faire's location could be reached in 35 minutes by car from downtown Austin.
Entertainment
Sherwood Forest Faire features premium entertainment, offering over 40 stage acts every day. Everyone can enjoy thrilling spectacles such as full-contact jousting, falconry, fire juggling, knife throwing, live music, comedy, and sword fighting. There are also exciting castle siege reenactments. With performances for both children and adults, you'll encounter minstrels, bards, storytellers, magicians, jugglers, and a variety of performers wandering the grounds.

Visitors can also explore a vibrant marketplace featuring over 170 artisans and merchants, offering an extensive selection of handcrafted goods from Central Texas. The festival includes live demonstrations such as glassblowing, blacksmithing, pottery spinning, leather armor crafting, weaving, jewelry making, and more. At Sherwood Forest Faire, there's an abundance of medieval-inspired treats and beverages, from hearty trenchers filled with delicious fare to tankards brimming with frothy mead.
Schedule
Sherwood Forest Faire will be open on weekends from March 1 to April 20, 2025, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in medieval revelry. Additionally, the festival will be open on Friday, March 21. The event runs from 10 am to dusk, welcoming guests rain or shine, ensuring that the fun and festivities continue regardless of the weather.
Tickets & Camping
Tickets for the Sherwood Forest Faire are available in several categories, with Early Bird discounts running through December 31. Adult tickets (ages 13 and up) are $28 + tax online during the Early Bird period and $30 + tax after. At the gate, tickets will be $34, including tax. For youth tickets (ages 6-12), Early Bird pricing is $16.80 + tax, while standard tickets will be $18 + tax, with gate pricing at $20. Children under 5 enter free of charge and do not require a ticket.
For those seeking additional perks, Friends of Faire and Season Passes will be available until 11:59 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, and these will not be available for sale afterward. The Friends of Faire package includes season-long access, camping, exclusive after-hours events, special discounts, and more. Early Bird pricing for Friends of Faire packages is $253 + tax for adults and $151.80 + tax for youth if purchased by January 31, 2025.
Sherwood Forest Faire hosts on-site camping and overnight accommodations: five-bedroom suites in the Great Hall of King Richard's own Nottingham Castle. Reservations must be made in advance.
