Novato Art, Wine & Music Festival 2024 in California
An all-weekend celebration of local music, craftsmanship, and wine in the North Bay Area
Dates: June 8–9, 2024
Considered one of the biggest outdoor festivals in Marin County, the Novato Art, Wine & Music Festival draws in almost 80,000 visitors wishing to unwind with a glass of wine. Due to Novato's close proximity to Napa Valley, famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon, the event gathers almost twenty wineries, offering their best wine varieties. The program also promises live music by regional talent and a fascinating arts & crafts market featuring hand-made artworks by local artisans.
Wine, Beer & Cider Selection
Since its inception in 1983, the Novato Art, Wine & Music Festival has been a prime spot to taste all kinds of wine varieties and define your taste palate. Bringing together the Bay Area, Napa Valley, and Appalachian winemakers, the event's venue is filled to the brim with wine booths and wine enthusiasts. Apart from that, attendees might also enjoy cider and beer at one of several pouring sites along Grant Avenue. To satisfy your food cravings, local eateries and food stalls offer a plethora of options, from BBQ to Mexican cuisine.
Family-Friendly Entertainment
While wine tasting is taking center stage at the festival, there are many other noteworthy attractions to explore. Families are especially drawn to this event because of its various amusement options for children, including face painting, interactive exhibits, and traditional fair games.
Arts & Crafts Market
The Novato Art, Wine & Music Festival has always been known for its bohemian and avant-garde art scene, the main allure of its artisan market. Ranging from classic photo displays and oil paintings to handmade jewelry and decoration pieces inspired by modern media franchises, the vendors have something for everyone. Visitors also have a unique opportunity to interact with the creators of the crafts and contribute to interactive art displays at the venue.
Music Lineup
During the run of the festival, you'll have a chance to witness live performances on two stages. This year, on June 8th, the stage will be set ablaze by musicians from the Bay Area and beyond, including Kid Galaga, Mo’Lasses, Edu Bega, tribute bands AZ/DZ, and Unauthorized Rolling Stones. Lauren Galbreath, Pardon The Interruption, Jesse Brewster Band and Wonder Bread 5 will perform on June 9th.
Schedule & Admission
The festival grounds operate from 11 am until 7 pm on June 8th and from 11 am until 6 pm on June 9th. The live music begins at 11:45 am on June 8th and at 12 am on June 9th. All performances generally last an hour or an hour and a half. The event is completely free and doesn't require any admission fees.
Location
The festival takes place in Downtown Novato on a gorgeous Grant Avenue between Redwood Boulevard and Seventh Street. Previously, the festivities were held in Old Town Novato, but in order to expand the venue, the event was moved to Grant Avenue.
Parking & Transportation
Because parking near Grant Avenue is extremely limited at the time of the festival, consider commuting by public transport or walking to the venue if you're nearby. SMART trains regularly stop at the San Marin station, which is one mile (1,6 km) away from the venue. Marin Transit bus is a more convenient option, since it stops at Redwood & Grant bus station, close to the event grounds.
