Here you can witness the cherry on top of all 4th of July celebrations in Galveston Island: an unbelievable free evening parade. The event starts at 59th Street and finishes at 25th Street and features a procession of performers, floats, decorated military vehicles, and much more.
The parade is usually followed by a 20-minute flashing fireworks display lighting up the sky over the Gulf of Mexico. The show is sponsored by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees. It takes place near Seawall Boulevard and 37th Street and is accompanied by a live concert. If you have an idea to tip back a cocktail while observing the spectacle, there are several bars around the boulevard for you.
