One of the most popular ways to spend Independence Day is the Fourth on the Field at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Bring your whole family to enjoy live music, food trucks, and fireworks. The gates open at 6 p.m., and the concert starts at 8 p.m. The evening culminates with a unique fireworks display. Parking is $15 per car, and general admission starts at $15. Rancho Cordova Fourth of July
Moving further eastwards to Rancho Cordova, you'll find another wonderful celebration. The annual two-day Rancho Cordova Fourth of July features a morning race and a parade on Coloma Road, as well as evening concerts and fireworks at Hagan Community Park. Admission is only $5, and parking is $10.
Elk Grove Salute to the Red, White, and Blue
Elk Grove's 4th of July is likewise worth visiting. This southeastern suburb of Sactown is generally considered one of the best places to live in California. On Independence Day, the city hosts a free, family-friendly Salute to the Red, White, and Blue at Elk Grove Park. The celebration usually lasts from 5 pm to 10 pm, with live music, food, and a fireworks show. Let Freedom Ring Bike Parade is planned for 6 pm, the music concert starts at 7:30 pm, and the Fireworks Spectacular ends the night at 9:40 pm.
Roseville 4th of July Celebration
Our last suggestion to make 4th of July memories near California's capital is the 4th of July Celebration in Sac's northeast suburb, Roseville. The main highlight is a parade, setting off from the intersection of Riverside Ave and Douglas Blvd onto Vernon St at 9 am. The merriments continue at Royer Park after 10 am. Adults can enjoy live music while kids engage in fun games and activities. Food is available for purchase. Firework extravaganza @the Grounds is scheduled between 9:15 pm and 9:30 pm. Parking is $15, cash only; admission is free. Family-friendly activities and concessions will be available from 4 pm.
Lincoln 4th of July Parade
Lincoln, located northeast of Sacramento, hosts a massive 4th of July celebration, attracting thousands of guests. Festivities take place at McBean Park, with plenty of food, fun activities, family entertainment, and live music. The celebration in downtown Lincoln starts with the 4th of July Parade at 9 am. The procession begins at A & 5th Streets, then goes west on 5th, heads north and turns right on F Street, goes to 6th Street, heads east, and stops at 6th & D St. When the parade ends, people gather for the annual Horseshoe Tournament and community festival at McBean Park, usually running from 2 pm to 9 pm. Attendees can enjoy food, games, vendors, and live bands while waiting for the Fourth of July Fireworks. The 20-minute 4th of July show usually starts at 9 pm.
