"City of Lights" is a popular 4th of July celebration featuring a parade and a spectacular fireworks display in the evening. It's a popular event that draws folks and visitors alike to gather and enjoy the spectacle together. Additionally, there may be other festivities such as food vendors, and family-friendly activities to complement the fireworks show and parade.

Fireworks Show (July 3, 2024)

The event is absolutely free, meaning anyone can rejoice in a festive atmosphere and watch the fireworks turning the dark sky into a colorful canvas. The best places to view the display are McCullough Park and RiverEdge Park, with the gates opening at 6 pm. DJ Suave Smooth will host at RiverEdge Park from 6 pm to 9:45 pm, and DJ Pena will entertain the audience at McCullough Park from 6 pm to 9:45 pm. Visitors can also treat themselves to delicious food that will be available for purchase at the food truck court. So, if you want to start the celebration early, visiting Aurora on July 3rd is a great idea.

Annual 4th of July Parade (July 4, 2024)

The next day, the parade is waiting for you, which has already become a good tradition for the residents of Aurora. The City of Aurora's Annual 4th of July Parade sets off at 10 am in downtown Aurora. The Parade starts at the intersection of Benton St. and Broadway St. and marches north on Broadway St. (Rt. 25) to Downer Pl., then west on Downer Pl. to Middle Ave., where it will end. Various public parking lots are located throughout Downtown, excluding those along the parade route.
