Jocotes en Dulce in Guatemala 2024-2025
This savoury fruit is stored for several months after the harvest to later sweeten the Christmas season

Juicy jocotes—red or green, sweet or tangy—are harvested between July and October and stored until December when they are taken out for a Guatemalan Christmas dessert called "Jocotes en Dulce." This seasonal delicacy is cooked with various seasonings including allspice, cinnamon, panela, other spices, and is available between late November and early January.
