Jocotes en Dulce Featured in
Juicy jocotes—red or green, sweet or tangy—are harvested between July and October and stored until December when they are taken out for a Guatemalan Christmas dessert called "Jocotes en Dulce." This seasonal delicacy is cooked with various seasonings including allspice, cinnamon, panela, other spices, and is available between late November and early January.
