NAS Jax Air Show 2024 in Jacksonville, FL
Witness the soaring maneuvers of legendary aircraft at this one-of-a-kind spectacle
Dates: October 19–20, 2024
Home to the legendary flight demonstration squadron, Blue Angels, Jacksonville has a history of hosting massive aviation shows, which draw in thousands of spectators from all over the country. One of them is NAS Jax Air Show, which alternates every year with the Sea & Sky Air Show. Having taken place at the Naval Air Station since 1945, the spectacle promises to leave you in awe with the aerobatic maneuvers, impressive flyovers and fiery jet trucks.
Air Show Performers
While the event's schedule is jam-packed with head-spinning flight demonstrations, the Blue Angels squadron is the public's favorite. They regularly serve as long-standing headliners of the event and have been doing so for many years. Even without their presence, the show has a lot more in store for everyone. This year's lineup features the U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team from Utah and aerobatic veteran Rob Holland.
The star selection of performers is completed by the national aerobatic champion Patty Wagstaff and many others. Additionally, you'll have a chance to witness a heart-stopping parachute demonstration performed by The Para-Commandos, US Special Operations Command parachute team.
Other Activities
Back on the ground, the venue has a lot to offer to the show's attendees. Feel free to explore the static exhibition—a traditional display of both vintage and modern aircraft. You'll have an opportunity to walk around and shop at the merch booths, grab a snack from food vendors, and enjoy a delicious beverage. There is also a Kids Zone, which features a 36-foot (10 m) Turbo Shuttle Slide, face painting, and Blue Angel Obstacle Course.
Schedule
The gates to the event's grounds open at 9 am, while the flyovers begin at 11 am. Consider departing earlier to beat the crowd since the traffic on show days is known for being quite heavy. The Kids Zone operates from 10 am until 3 pm.
Tickets & Admission
Admission and parking at the air show are completely free. If your little ones want to take part in the games at the Kids Zone, you need to pay $5 for a wristband to enter the area. To observe the flyover show comfortably, you can buy a $10 pass for reserved seating. Also, while ATMs are available at the venue, consider stocking up on cash prior to the event.
Location
All the festivities unfold at the Naval Air Station, a significant landmark of Jacksonville with its history dating back to 1940s. It's located 30 miles (48 km) from Jacksonville International Airport and is easy to reach by highways I-10, I-95 and I-295, depending on which side of the city you're coming from.
