Halloween is a cheerful time in Jacksonville, which is full of festivals, fun events, and outdoor scares. During the last week of October, kids come trick-or-treating in Downtown Jacksonville and participate in a Halloween Scavenger Hunt via mobile phones and QR codes.

Jacksonville Zoo attracts many visitors with its Spooktacular, running on select nights during mid-October. Kids are welcome to come in costumes and enjoy a special program from 6 to 10 pm, which includes trick-or-treating, scare zones, pirates, bounce houses, pumpkins, live entertainment, and animals.

Adult thrill-seekers can head to Adventure Landing amusement park, where Haunt Nights run daily from dusk to 10 pm. The largest 3D haunt in the area features two haunt houses: "Nightmares” and “Morbid Hotel.” Dare to be scared by dark fables and nightmarish houses in Jacksonville Beach!

If nighttime scares are not for you, you can always spend the day at the pumpkin patch or enjoy a ride on a tractor-pulled farm wagon at Congaree and Penn Farm. Kids' Halloween-themed activities and delicious fall treats are available on some days in October.
