Greenbelt Green Man Festival 2024 in Maryland
Celebrate nature with an array of fun activities
Dates: May 11-12, 2024
Greenbelt Green Man Festival is a beloved community event held every May at Roosevelt Center Plaza in Greenbelt, Maryland. The two-day festival features live music, crafts, food vendors, educational exhibits, and plenty of activities for the whole family. The free festival runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
Held since 2003, Greenbelt Green Man Festival promotes environmental awareness. The festival's symbol is Green Man, a folkloric image of a human face sprouting leaves and vegetation, common for the British Isles. The Green Man symbolizes the life that is found in the natural plant world and in the earth itself.
The main highlights of the Greenbelt Green Man Festival include a community drum circle, workshops, kids' scavenger hunt, face and body painting. Henna art, glitter tattoos/charms, hair wraps, matching bracelets, and the fairy garden. Families with young children can work together to create their own fairy garden to take home. The Greenbelt Drum Circle performs at the beginning of the festival on both days. Vendors offer plenty of unique handmade items for sale, like hiking sticks, jewelry, original artwork, and more.
