SummerStage is one of the major highlights of the Central Park concert calendar for all music fans in NYC. For 30 years, it has been the preeminent outdoor concert series featuring performers like Liam Gallagher, Trombone Shorty, Jason Mraz, and O.A.R. Summer Stage program includes more than 100 free events, like readings by star writers, kids' shows, theatre and dance performances, and of course, live music shows by stars from around the world. The festival's main stage is at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, but over the years it has expanded to other neighborhood 17 parks in NYC. Among them—St.Mary Park in the Bronx and Queensbridge Park in Queens.
SummerStage features everything from local hip-hop artists in several NYC parks to famous indie-rock bands on its main stage in Central Park. The festival usually runs from June to September or October. Various events happen almost every day—such as free summer concerts, dance parties, poetry readings, and outdoor opera.
According to its creators, SummerStage represents all the things great about New York: its vast cultural diversity and almost unlimited entertainment options. Central Park summer concerts draw some 200,000+ audiences annually.
