Just for Laughs Comedy Festival 2024 in Montreal
Meet your favorite comedians and sitcom stars around Montreal during the summer
Dates: July 12–28, 2024 (on hold)
Established in 1983 as a small French-speaking festival, Just for Laughs has grown to an annual gathering of the best comedians and performers. After English acts were added to the roster, the festival started to attract more and more international comedy stars from all around the world. Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Rowan Atkinson, Adam Sandler, and David Schwimmer are just some of the past performers who appeared on stage.
During three weeks, the festival covers both indoor and outdoor venues. There are also free events concentrated in the well known Latin quarter which include dancing shows, circus performances, carnival rides, and even a twin parade. Hundreds of twins, triplets, and quadruplets dress up in a medley of costumes and march down the streets of Montreal in order to win the competition and become the most creative siblings of the festival.
As of 2024, the festival has been called off, casting uncertainty on its future in Montreal.
