Held annually from 1999, Seoul Drum Festival has become increasingly popular among both locals and tourists. Although the event is focused on the Korean art of percussion, bands from around the world come to demonstrate their unique talents and compete with the local musicians. Prepare to be mesmerized by the harmony of the old and new, and the traditional and modern beats. This is undeniably a great way to discover Korean culture! Schedule varies from year to year but the festival is usually held around the first week of October. Be sure to get there early to get a good spot. Other activities include exhibits, workshops and parades. The best part? Admission is free!
