The Great Lakes Medieval Faire is a popular annual event, held every summer, during weekends only. The family-friendly theme park, located off State Route 534 in Rock Creek, Ohio, features several stages of entertainment, a marketplace with about 100 vendors, amusement rides, and interactive games for all ages.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire activities

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire takes place in a shaded area, which reminds of Sherwood Forest. Visitors are sent back in time to the shire of Avaloch in the 13th century. Expect to see minstrels, majesties, knights, and ladies. The marketplace offers exciting shopping for everything, from hand-blown glass art to silk, jewelry, soap, fragrances, leather goods, clothes, boots, swords, and much more. Fun activities include axe-throwing, archery, and other games of skill. Delicious foods will keep guests full and happy: turkey legs, fried foods, smoothies, salads, homemade frozen custards, and other desserts.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire schedule

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire features themed weekends to satisfy any taste: Super Heros, Time Travelers, Pirates, and others. For example, during Pirate weekend, the public will be met by costumed characters and can engage in pirate-themed games and activities. The gates of the theme park open at 11 am and close at 7 pm. The opening ceremony begins at 10:45 am, and the closing ceremony is scheduled at about 6:15 pm.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire tickets

Tickets to the festival are fairly cheap. For example, for an adult one, you'll have to pay only $25, for children aged between 5 and 12 – only $5, and kids younger than 5 can enter for free. In addition, there are Weekend Passes, costing $35 and Adult Season Passes, worth $85. Children's Season Pass, however, will be only $25. Seniors, military citizens, and first responders can enter for just $19.
