The Frontier Days Festival in Milford has been held annually since 1963, featuring amazing entertainment possibilities for any taste. The idea of this festival is to "go back to the roots." At the event, visitors can watch a craft show, play various games, go on fun rides, taste a plethora of dishes from food booths, take part in competitions (like spaghetti or frog jumping ones), and even participate in a colorful parade.
Milford Frontier Days Parade (May 30, 2024)
The most anticipated weekend of May kicks off with the celebratory parade, marking an unofficial start of the summer. The parade begins at 6:30 pm on the festival's first day, and the gathering point is Milford Shopping Center on Lila Street. You may want to arrive at the spot 30 minutes earlier if you're participating in the procession. Full to the brim with vibrant floats, patriotically decorated vehicles, and locals in red, white, and blue attire, the parade stops at Main Street in Downtown Milford at around 7:45 pm.
Frontier Days Festival
The main festival takes place in downtown Milford at Riverside Park and the admission is completely free. The celebration spans from 5 pm to 10 pm on May 30th, from 5 pm to 11 pm on May 31st, from noon until 11 pm on June 1st. Your children might enjoy face painting and a vibrant Children's Craft Area, which annually holds workshops for children of all ages. Carnival games and attractions will take you on a thrilling ride, full of fun.
Food vendors at the venue offer a variety of meals, including hot dogs, stromboli, calzones, smoked fried wings, and more. The beverage menu features all kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. At the Maker's Market, artisans from all over the region set up their stalls and showcase various crafts, which you can buy to remember the event.
Live Music Lineup
At the festival, popular local bands will perform live music, so you can dance all you want or sing along to your favorite hits. On May 30th, 80s-spirited band, The Vinyl Countdown will perform some of the best 80s hits after the parade. May 31st promises an intriguing concert of Counting Skeletons, beloved by the local public. Mark your calendars for June 1st, when LunchBox Band will round up the festival with their high-energy music. All performances begin at 8 pm at Riverside Park and last until 10-11 pm.
