The city of Mentor knows a little something about celebrating America's birthday. The city's administration has prepared many awesome activities for people of all ages, like a concert and fireworks display. All you have to do is arrive at the spot and be in a great mood.

Concert

On the 4th of July, visitors and residents of Mentor will have an opportunity to enjoy a terrific live music concert. The performance will take place at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater. You should expect amazing local bands with their unique music genre rooted in alt-rock and pop hooks. Forever Seger will create a journey through the music of Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. The concert begins at 8 pm sharp, so you may want to arrive at the spot earlier and grab a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on (unless you want to spend all evening dancing).

Food & Drinks

Don't worry about going hungry because local food trucks will treat guests. The amphitheater gates open at 6 pm, two hours before the concert. Once you enter the area, feel free to taste delicious food from local vendors. The most popular food trucks at the event will be Chick-fil-A, Hunger Squad, Wild Spork, and many others. You can pay with cash or a credit card.

Drinks are also on the list. An assortment of beers, wines, fizzy drinks, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. Be sure to grab your ID so the sellers can verify your age. Plus, keep in mind that the event organizers strictly ask you to avoid bringing any outside alcohol. Guests can bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers. Pets are not permitted at the celebration grounds.

Fireworks

The fireworks show, starting at the end of the celebration, is the cherry on top of all this fun. The pyrotechnic display kicks off at approximately 10 pm and goes on for about 25 minutes. You can also watch the fireworks from the Mentor High School grounds. If you’re visiting the city for a short period, be sure to book your accommodation beforehand, as Mentor gets pretty busy this time of the year.

Parking

Visitors can park for free at Mentor Civic Center Park, Senior Center, Police Station, the Municipal Center, Center Street Ballfields (weather permitting), Lake Health Wellness Center, Mentor High School, and the Laketran Park & Ride Market Street Lot.
