Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular is a fun, family-friendly festival that takes place at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, a stadium complex near Scottsdale, northeast of Phoenix. The festival features over 20 hot air balloons, live music, food, various vendors, and a free Kids Zone, boasting over 30 inflatable slides and attractions. Tethered balloon rides will be available. In addition, the little ones get a safe trick-or-treating experience with over 4,000 pounds of candy, a pumpkin patch, and Spooky Costume Contests for children and adults.
Balloon Glow
After sunset, the balloons begin to inflate and glow as long as their burners stay on. Usually, the beautiful extravaganza starts at 5:45 pm and lasts until about 8:45 or 9:15 pm, depending on the weather.
Trick-or-trating and the Costume Contest
Each balloon at Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular serves as a trick-or-treat station with plenty of candy. The day full of fun ends with a fireworks show and an amazing balloon glow, lasting over 3 hours.
The three entertaining Talking Stick Entertainment District Costume Contests start at 7 pm. The winners will receive a special Trophy and a $100 Visa Gift Card. Participants can register at the Contest Check-in Tent until 6:46 pm. All contestants must walk the stage. Parents may accompany their children. The jury will select the ten best entries in every category. Then, the public will determine the winner with applause.
Tickets
General admission to Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular is $17 for adults, $12 for children (3-13). Tethered rides tickets are available on-site only. Make sure to come early because the rides are given on a first come, first serve basis. Parking at Salt River Fields is free of charge.
Attendees can also shop at the Spooktacular Marketplace with arts, crafts, and various merchandise as well as Halloween-themed foods and beverages. Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular runs for two days from 5 pm to 9:30 pm, offering the best Halloween experience for families from the Valley.
