Crypticon is an annual gathering of the fans of creepy stuff in all its forms. For a couple of days, the DoubleTree Hotel is filled with thousands of gorehounds, bloodlusts, zombies, and creeps. People from all over the Pacific Northwest come to meet with their favorite celebrities and watch movies. Premieres are often shown at the festival with directors' and actors' presentations. The festival has featured Richard Brake of Game of Thrones, Kimmy Robertson and Harry Goaz from Twin Peaks, and many others.

Crypticon has been held since 2008 with over 5,000 attendees annually. Fans come to dress up as their favorite characters, learn the scary makeup techniques, and enjoy macabre-themed parties. Cosplay contest is undoubtedly the highlight with Cthulhu, zombies, and vampires competing with each other. Also, attendees can take part in makeup and writing contests.
